Glasses for Ned

Ned has new glasses! This is the Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D and it's the newest addition to my starting arsenal. I was originally looking for a Prime Lens that was light and portable but still had exceptional performance. The 18-105mm lens that my Nikon D7000 came with was kinda bulky and heavy, so I felt as if it wasn't an ideal lens that I could carry around with me everyday.

I wanted a lens which could allow me to put my entire camera in my school bag. I didn't want to carry around another camera bag everyday because of the weight, the inconvenience and the security issues that it came with.

After asking my photographer friends about lenses which fit my criteria and doing a lot of research about lens reviews online, I came to the conclusion that the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D was the best for me. It was hailed as one of the best prime lenses of Nikon. But out of all of its accolades, two things stood out as the most relevant to me.

1. Value for Money - One of the sharpest lenses Nikon has ever created is priced at a little over $120. It is seen as a lens that delivers outstanding performance for its price tag.
2. Portable - It is very lightweight and compact. It is ideal for people on the go who want a handy, hassle-free, yet functional lens.

I bought this once again from the ever-reliable Kimstore. They processed my order in one day and we did a meet up at a mall of my choice somewhere around Ortigas Center. It was a very hassle-free transaction. I think I'll be getting more stuff from them in the future.

As of now, I can't really test out Ned's new glasses because of the AIMS competition which I'm joining this Saturday and Sunday. (Wish me luck!) But once I get that out of the way, I'll finally be able to scratch that itchy trigger finger of mine!

Here are some shots taken with the Nikon 50mm f/1.8 (Couldn't do so much since I'm rushing)
I'm in love with the focus. The way it blurs the background is amazing.
Very sharp!
